I'm finally getting a chance to sit down and copy the updates on the boys that I wrote on my phone several months ago. I don't think I'm much of a blogger anymore. Unfortunately, between ministry, homeschooling, and just the demands of life there is just not a lot of time. But I like to post these here as a record to later print for baby book purposes.
I hope to post a few brief summer highlights in pictures when I have a chance as well.
Joah turned 15 month on August 4:
Wearing: 18 month clothing and 24 month clothing in one piece outfits, size 5 diapers (we just moved him up so that we could buy just one size for both the littles; Jude is potty training but not dry at night), shoe size is probably a 5-6 (the shoes he always wears for everything are labeled size 12-18 months so I don't know exactly)
Growth: 24 pounds 12 ounces (about 75th percentile) and 31 1/4 inches (about 50th percentile); he is the biggest of all our boys at this age but looking back at their info, he is not much bigger than they were.
Sleeping: He cut down to one nap a day around 15 months but will occasionally take two (either a.m. or late p.m.) if he falls asleep in the car or if he's really tired from being up early or being out late (depending on our crazy schedule!)
Eating: He eats all table food now. He is the best meat eater at this age of all three boys. Some of his favorite foods: turkey, veggie straws, peanut butter crackers, most fruits, not a huge veggie eater but does eat frozen peas like all three of mine did, and he loves dessert! He makes little grunting noises when he sees anyone with dessert or eating something that he wants. He does not like when I cut his food into little bites, and he is the most interested at this age in having plates and utensils. Some new foods he has recently tried: pizza and hotdogs (the important things, of course!)
Personality: he is the most content of all three at this age, pretty easy going and goes with the flow, probably the most friendly and outgoing of the three at this age (he waves to everyone and holds out his hand to be kissed), he is getting very active very good at climbing and constantly gets up on things that he shouldn't and into things like toilets and trash cans, starting to have little fits where he cries or screams when he's unhappy about something but they are pretty mild, he is very rough and holds his own very well, and just pretty happy about life and whatever each day brings.
Teething: He had 7 teeth at 15 months (and now has 8). The least of all three at this age.
Look: a big, tall, solid boy at this point. He has dirty blonde hair and still has brown AND blue eyes (brown near the pupil and blur on the outside and they look different colors in different lighting and outfits?)
Health: He is still fairly healthy but unfortunately has had quite a few double ear infections (including a set a the beginning of the summer and the end of the summer, and if we have any more in the next few months will have to be referred to the ENT for tubes. We've had a ton of stomach bugs and viruses this last year, and I'm just praying that we have a little relief this fall/winter in a season that usually comes with sickness and just that God would protect us from the germs!!
New "Tricks": He is walking very well and climbing everything. He points to everything lately and grunts, wanting me to tell him what it is. I think he's taking in a lot of words (and has said a lot of words at some point but doesn't use all his words all the time.) most frequently used words at the moment are probably: Mama, Daddy, hey, book, truck, dog, and cat. He tries to say a lot of other things that he understands but we don't at this point! He growls to imitate animals and trucks. He loves to wave to everything. He enjoys looking at books. He likes bouncing/dancing and scream-singing along with songs. He gets everyone's shoes for them all day long and brings them to me/them, throws thing away when asked and sometimes when not asked!, and imitates monkeys jumping on the bed when the word monkey is ever mentioned and goes and gets the monkey finger puppets as well. Pulling hair and less than gentle pats are also part of our world with 15 month old Joah!
Likes : playing (which he doesn't mind to do alone at times), reading/flipping through books, eating, his brothers and doing what they do (he especially likes James but I think it's because he and Jude are still vying for my attention in similar ways as the youngest two), people, bath time, Mickey Mouse, animals, and transportation Dislikes: being left at church (cries for a few minutes at the beginning and end when he hasn't been picked up yet), and not getting his way at times right now
Here are a few pictures of the boys at around 15 months and 6.5 years. (Jude's update at age 3 was my last few posts back in June which is why he is not featured in these updates! Eeeek!)
